'Minor altercation' breaks out at Central York football game

An altercation occurred between two people following Friday night’s Central York High School football game, police said.

The two individuals were tossing around little footballs around outside the stadium when one person hit the other with a ball and the other took exception, according to Patrolman Scott Altland of the Springettsbury Township Police Department. A minor fight ensued and police were called when things settled down.

One of the persons involved was a Central York student, according to Altland, while the other went to another school. The two individuals involved were familiar with one another through a mutual friend, Altland said.

The incident occurred as fans were exiting Panther Stadium following Central York’s 14-11 loss to South Western.
