Chance Marsteller, a four-time state wrestling champion at Kennard-Dale High School who’s accused of kicking, biting and spitting at police officers after being taken into custody at an apartment complex near Lock Haven University, is now free on $50,000 bail.

Marsteller, 21, posted bail on Saturday and was released from the Clinton County Correctional Facility, according to court records. He’s charged with six counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses.

At 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, Lock Haven police said they were called to the apartment complex because Marsteller was knocking on doors and trying to get into fights. Then, he exposed himself to officers, police said, and later resisted arrest.

In an email sent to GameTimePA.com on Friday, Sports Information Director Douglas Spatafore said Marsteller is no longer a member of Lock Haven University’s wrestling team. That decision was made because of the charges, he said.

Neither Marsteller nor his attorney, David Lindsay, could be reached. He's expected back in court on Tuesday.
