Rohrbaugh wins 100th match but Spring Grove falls
Dalton Rohrbaugh's milestone victory wasn't enough to save Spring Grove in the District 3 Class 3A consolation quarterfinal.
Big Spring ran off a run of five consecutive falls from 170 through 285 pounds to knock off the Rockets, 42-28, Thursday.
Spring Grove led 9-6 after two bouts with a forfeit at 126 and a Jake Meyer decision at 138. Big Spring picked up a fall at 145 before Anthony Hinson's 6-2 win at 152-pounds tied the bout at 12.
Trent Baker gave the Rockets their final lead at 160 pounds with a 6-4 decision to make it 15-12, setting the stage for the Bulldogs' five consecutive falls to seal the outcome.
The Rockets closed with three victories, capped by Rohrbaugh's 11-3 major decision at 120 pounds. The victory was the junior's 100th in his career. Rohrbaugh is the ninth YAIAA wrestler to reach 100 wins this season.
