Gettysburg wrestling clinches share of division title

Since YAIAA wrestling went to three divisions during the 2014-2015 season, Kennard-Dale has been the benefactor by taking the Division II title the last two seasons. This year Gettysburg will earn at least a share of the title.

The Warriors pushed their record to 5-0 with a 68-9 home victory over Eastern York on Thursday.

Gettysburg posted a 46-20 victory against Kennard-Dale on Dec. 12 and moved to 2-0 in the division with a 53-21 win over Susquehannock. The Warriors added a 64-8 win over Dover and a 66-9 win over York Suburban on Jan. 5 and 10 before their latest win.

Gettysburg will face West York Tuesday with the outright division title at stake.

A berth in the District 3 Class 3A team tournament could also be in the works for the Warriors as they currently sit fifth in the power rankings. The top 16 teams qualify for the tournament.
