Spring Grove's Rohrbaugh medals at national meet
Dalton Rohrbaugh picked up another bronze medal on Sunday, this time at a national meet.
Less than a month after taking third place at the PIAA Class AAA championships, the Spring Grove sophomore took third in the 106-pound sophomore weight class at the National High School Coaches Association Nationals in Virginia Beach.
Rohrbaugh beat Drew Bennett, a wrestler from Iowa, in the bronze-medal match. He earned a takedown and two-point nearfall in the first 20 seconds of a sudden-victory overtime period to win the match.
Rohrbaugh's only loss of the tournament came to the eventual runner-up: Isaiah Delgado, from Texas.
Seth Janney, a junior at Malvern Prep who was a state runner-up for South Western in 2015, also earned a medal. He placed sixth in the 220-pound junior weight class, a drop from his gold medal as a sophomore a year ago.
