Roundup: Late fall puts Warriors over Bulldogs

Susquehannock 36, West York 30: Michael Younkin recorded a fall at 1:55 in the final match of the night, giving the Warriors a victory over the Bulldogs.

With the score tied at 30, Younkin was able to record the fall at 1:55, and in the process kept the Warriors in contention to share the Division II title with Kennard-Dale, which clinched a share with its win over Dover.

The Warriors jumped out to a 12-3 lead after four bouts and pushed that lead to 21-9 three bouts later before the Bulldogs battled back to take a 24-21 lead after 195 pounds with four bouts to go.

The Warriors took the next two bouts at 220 and 285 before Nathan Townsley tied the score at 106-pounds for the Bulldogs, setting the stage for a winner-take-all bout at 113.

Eastern York 48, York Suburban 25: The Golden Knights ran off 36 consecutive points from 152 pounds through 285 pounds to come away victorious against the Trojans.

Troy Staats started that run at 152 with a 6-2 decision after the hosts jumped out to a 15-6 lead. Dakota Mackley followed up with a forfeit victory to tie the score at 15 all.

Connor Barshinger, Jahshim Snyder and Carl Carbaugh followed with three consecutive falls to make it 33-15. Jared Korb added a decision at 220 and Wyatt Smith a forfeit at 285 to give the visitors a 42-15 lead.

Pearce Bloom (138) and Daoud Ilayan (120) each recorded falls for the Trojans.

Eagle heavyweight Brady Linebaugh did not record a fall, but had his hand raised in a forfeit victory at 285-pounds, giving him his 100th career win.
