Roundup: Central York takes down New Oxford


Central York's Michael Wolfgram opened the match with an 8-3 win against New Oxford's Brock Hartman, a key victory in the Panthers' 40-23 win against New Oxford in wrestling action Tuesday.

Central's Logan Paluch (106 pounds) followed with a fall to put the Panthers in front, 9-0. The Colonials responded with three consecutive wins, capped off by Brennon Romanoff’s decision at 126 pounds to put New Oxford in front, 10-9. It marked New Oxford's only lead of the contest.

The Panthers responded with a Xavier Musti (132) major decision and Dylan Chatterton (138) earned a forfeit. Orion Musti (145) and Steven Clawson (152) followed with technical falls to push Central's lead to 29-10. New Oxford's Nolan Poust ended the run with a major decision, but Zachary Emswiler (170) recorded a fall and Isaiah Dickson (182) recorded a tech fall to clinch the victory.

Kennard-Dale 40, West York 30: Kennard-Dale won the first four bouts against West York and seven of the first eight to jump out to a big lead as it held on for a 40-30 victory against West York. The Rams remained unbeaten in YAIAA Division II with their victory.

Tanner Harkins (285), Dameon Davis (106) and Justin Camrom Miller (113) each picked up falls while Samuel Stewart (120) recorded a pivotal 10-7 decision to push the Rams to an early 21-0 lead. Josh Hirneisen got six back for the Bulldogs at 126 pounds, earning a fall in 1:49.

It didn’t take long for the visitors to bulk up the lead as Andrew Barnett (132) recorded a fall in 2:12. Mike Bracey (138) received six points via forfeit and Wade Rose (145) edged Allen Stauffer, 6-4, to make it 36-6 and essentially clinch the victory.
