Wrestling roundup: Davis keeps Rams undefeated


Here are Thursday's York/Adams results.

Kennard-Dale 42, Eastern York 39: The Rams jumped out to a 36-6 lead, thanks to five falls and a forfeit, but the Golden Knights came roaring back, winning six bouts to take a 39-36 lead before Kennard-Dale’s Dameon Davis pinned Jonah Dougherty in 56 seconds at 106 to pull out the victory.

Justin Camron Miller (113) and Samuel Stewart (120) got the Rams going early with a pair of first-period pins, giving the hosts the 12-0 lead. Eastern York’s Nathan Robbins made it 12-6 with a fall in 5:29 at 126 pounds before the Rams won the next four bouts, starting with Mike Bracey’s fall at 132 and ending with Jacob Rose’s pin at 152 pounds.

Trailing 36-6, Golden Knight Dakota Mackley got the team moving in the right direction with a fall in 1:31 at 160 pounds. After a forfeit to Conner Barshinger at 170 and a 7-5 win at 182 by Jahshim Snyder, the Knights trailed just 36-21. Three matches and three pins later, the Knights were up three entering the final match where Davis’ heroics kept the Rams undefeated.

Dover 47, York Suburban 33: The Eagles were able to overcome five forfeits with six pins of their own in the road win against the Trojans.

Brandon Rodriguez sealed the match for Dover with his pin of Wright Morgan at 113 pounds with only a minute left in the second to last bout of the match.

Colin Shelton picked up Suburban’s only non-forfeit win with a 6-0 decision against Tyler Becker in the final bout at 120 pounds.
