Seth Janney
Wrestler of the Year
Seth Janney, South Western, 220 pounds, so.: Only a sophomore, Janney stepped onto the YAIAA scene and dominated this season, advancing all the way to the state championship.
Janney finished the season with a 41-3 record, including 32 pins and 33 straight wins at one point. He was the only YAIAA wrestler to reach a state championship bout, where he was runner-up after a 4-0 decision.
He was the lone YAIAA champion in District 3 Class AAA. Janney won the district gold medal with four pins and spent just over seven minutes on the mat.
Janney anchored a young squad that won the YAIAA Division I title under first-year coach Nate Murren.

First-team all-stars
Lucas Barshinger, Eastern York, 195, sr.: Two years removed from a 2-6 season, Barshinger went 33-4 with 19 pins. He went undefeated up until regionals, where he won a silver medal. Barshinger capped his career by finishing sixth in states.
Dylan Chatterton, Central York, 138, jr.: Already a two-time PIAA qualifier at 106 and 113, Chatterton bumped up to 138 and qualified for states yet again. The Panther remained undefeated until the final week of February and recorded an impressive 33-3 record. Chatterton finished third at districts and reached the state quarterfinals.
Colton Dull, Bermudian Springs,182, sr.: A two-sport all-star and a member of Bermudian's stacked lineup, Dull won a gold medal at regionals and finished third at states. In the midst of a 39-2 season, Dull's most dominant stretch came during districts , where he posted three pins in just over a minute combined. Dull's 150th career victory came in his last bout as an Eagle — the third-place match at states — where he won with a 1-0 decision.
Brady Linebaugh, Bermudian Springs, 285, jr.: As Bermudian's heavyweight, Linebaugh won 30 straight bouts at one point on his way to a 36-4 season. The junior narrowly missed a regional gold medal, but his second-place finish still earned him a trip to states.
Sam McCollum, Bermudian Springs, 220, sr.: McCollum's record was unblemished this season through regionals, where he brought home a gold medal. The senior, who was also a first-team all star in football, went 43-2 and finished fourth in states. McCollum reached the 100-career wins plateau during his medal run at regionals.
Nate Newberry, Biglerville, 145, jr.: The Canners junior saw his win total increase for the third consecutive season and finished 38-4. Newberry earned career win No. 100 in his district title match. He went on to win gold at regionals and finish seventh at states.
Dalton Rohrbaugh, Spring Grove, 106, fr.: The youngest wrestler on the list, Rohrbaugh had the most successful freshman campaign in Rockets' history, finishing 32-6 and winning silver at districts. The freshman was pinned just once all season.
Briton Shelton, Bermudian Springs, 170, sr.: After finishing fourth in the state in 2014, Shelton reached states again in 2015, but didn't medal. He did, however, earn a regional gold and finished the season 38-5, with 26 wins coming by way of tech fall, major decision or pin.
Garrett Stauffer, West York, 152, sr.: Stauffer capped his four-year varsity career with his best season as a Bulldog. He earned a career-high 31 wins, came in fourth at districts and picked up his 100th career victory in the consolation semifinal win that also clinched his spot at states. Stauffer was also instrumental in West York finishing second in Division II.
Zurich Storm, New Oxford, 113, so.: Another bright, young talent in the YAIAA, Storm didn't fall victim to a pin all season. The sophomore racked up 36 wins and came in third at districts, earning himself a ticket to states, where he reached the third round of consolations.
Owen Wherley, South Western, 126, jr.: Wherley had an impressive junior season for the YAIAA Division I champs. Wherley won a career-best 37 bouts, qualified for states and won his 100th career match while winning a silver medal at districts.
Derek Wilson, South Western, 120, jr.: Wilson was another Mustang who saw his win total increase dramatically under first-year head coach Nate Murren. After winning 13 bouts his freshman year, then 20 last season, Wilson went 36-13 this season. What made that record even more impressive is that Wilson started the season 7-7 before heating up. The junior made a run to the state semifinals, where he lost to eventual champ Spencer Lee.
Coach of the Year
Mike Balestrini, Kennard-Dale: The Rams didn't just stay afloat in the wake of Chance Marsteller's exit, they excelled. Under Balestrini, the Rams had their most successful team season in program history, capped off with their first YAIAA division championship.
