Red Lion volleyball upsets York Suburban

Red Lion senior Dillon Hildebrand called Tuesday's matchup with York Suburban a "must-win" if the Lions wanted to take the next step as a team this season. The Lions obliged, winning 27-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-10 to remain undefeated and hand the Trojans' their first loss of the season.

"Everyone comes in ranked and thinks they're going to walk all over us," Hildebrand said. "Then we bring it to them...I think this win would define how our season would go. We had to get this one if we wanted the rest of the season to go the way we want it to."

Hildebrand and sophomore Cole Brillhart combined for 41 kills, John Longnecker added 27 assists and Josh Donaldson blocked 11 shots for Red Lion. After splitting the first two games, Red Lion usurped the momentum in game three with a 25-22 win, then cruised in game four, 25-10.

"We made a huge block there in game four," Red Lion head coach Rick Torbert said. "Then we shut them down in the first half and they just couldn't recover."
