Two state champions from the area have emerged at the PIAA track and field championships at Shippensburg University.
On Saturday, Greencastle-Antrim's Taryn Parks won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 45.41 seconds. That mark surpassed Parks' personal record by nearly 10 seconds, and allowed her to take home state gold in Class 3A.
At Red Lion, Madisen Kling took home first place in the Class 3A discus, with a throw of 141 feet, 3 inches. Last week, Kling won the District 3 Class 3A championship with a throw of 141 feet, 6 inches.
