Christian School of York girls win track title

The Christian School of York girls' track and field team won the team title at the CCAC championships in dominant fashion Wednesday at Northern High School.

Nicole Shelton blazed to a nearly 2-minute victory in the 3,200 meters, finishing in 12 minutes, 12.67 seconds. She also won the 1,600 meters by nearly 10 seconds. Shelton and teammate Laura Kruth went 1-2 in the 800.

Kruth won the 400 dash, and Madelyn Kruth won the 300-meter hurdles, going 1-2 with Noel Miller in that event.

The Kruths and Miller ran on the Crusaders' winning 1,600 relay along with Rachel Strode. And CSY added a win in the 400 relay.

The Crusaders racked up 149 team points to easily beat runner-up Harrisburg Christian (59 points).

On the boys' side, CSY finished third with 35 points, behind champion West Shore Christian (211) and Dayspring Christian (80).
