Red Lion's Potter vaults to 2nd at Penn Relays


Five YAIAA track and field athletes competed in the annual Penn Relays in Philadelphia with several very strong showings.

On Saturday, Red Lion's Greg Potter finished second in the boys' pole vault with a mark of 14 feet, 5 1/4 inches.

On Thursday, Spring Grove's Nathalie Elliot tied for fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 11 3/4 inches.

South Western's Lynne Mooradian finished 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.19.

New Oxford's Madi Smith finished 16th in the javelin with a mark of 113 feet, 3 inches.

Central York's Alexis Baublitz also competed in the pole vault but didn't place because she did not clear the bar.
