The Littlestown doubles team of Brett Gill and Noah DeCampo fell one win shy of qualifying for states after dropping a pair of three-set matches Saturday in the District 3 Class 2A Championships at Hershey Racquet Club.

After a pair of victories Friday, Gill and DeCampo, the tournament No. 2 seed, faced No. 3 seed Spencer Landis and Alex Landis, identical twins from Camp Hill, in the semifinals.

The Thunderbolt duo started well, winning the first set 6-4. The Lions bounced back to take the next two sets, 6-2, 6-3 to send Gill and DeCampo into the consolation match to determine the last PIAA qualifier.

Gill and DeCampo again started out well in their match against Berks Catholic's Justin Schultz and Oriol Aragay, winning the first set in decisive fashion, 6-1. The Thunderbolts team could not keep that momentum going against the Saints duo, dropping the final two sets 6-2, 6-2.

On Friday, Gill and DeCampo opened with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Donegal's Andrew Ashley and Aaron Stehman before punching their ticket to the semifinals with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (6) comeback victory against Wyomissing's James Potteiger and Owen Pendergast.

Spencer and Alex Landis went on to win the doubles title with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Wyomissing's Will Schreck and Ben Croft in the final.
