Tuesday's girls' cross country roundup: Three finish top-five for Eastern York in sweep

EASTERN YORK SWEEPS AT YORK COUNTY TECH >> Thanks to three top-five finishers — led by Maddie McLain's second place finish in 18:53 — the Golden Knights topped Kennard-Dale, Spring Grove and the hosts, York County Tech on Tuesday.

Rams runner Maddie Ferner defeated McClain by nine seconds, coming in at 18:42, the second time in three days Ferner has defeated McClain. Kennard-Dale's Caitlin Salomon was third in 19:49 followed by a pair of Knights in Olivia McLain in 20:19 and Madison Nalls in 20:48.

DALLASTOWN SWEEPS AT HOME >> Haley Brown crossed the line in 20:28, which was good enough for first place and helped lead the Wildcats to the home win.

Sarah Groetz took fourth at 21:15 for Dallastown. Delone Catholic's Leanne Sneeringer took second with a time of 20:38 as her team finished in second place overall.

HARTMAN LEADS CENTRAL YORK TO SWEEP >> The Panthers' top-five racers finished 2-3-4-5-6, with Paige Hartman leading the way with a time of 21:21 in the road sweep at West York.

The Bulldogs' Bethany Weaver was the individual winner with a time of 20:45.8. West York finished in second with a record of 3-1.

NORTHEASTERN COMES OUT VICTORIOUS >> The Bobcats barely edged out the Warriors for first place in the team matches, as they won by one point. Both Northeastern and Susquehannock dominated the Canners on their home course, however Biglerville had to forfeit runners in indivuals and only had one runner participate. Rachel Banchiere set a record at Biglerville's new course with a time of 19:54.7.
