Another week, another course record for Eastern York sophomore extraordinaire Maddie McLain.

After setting the girls' cross country course record at West York's Resevoir Hill with a time of 20 minutes, 14.5 seconds last week, McLain took 25 seconds off her time at Delone Catholic on Tuesday, finishing in 19:40.31.

McLain broke Kady Shrann's previous course record by over five seconds.

McLain finished a full minute-plus ahead of York Suburban's Olivia Gettle, who came in second with a mark of 20:40.43.

Unfortunately for McLain and the Golden Knights, her blazing speed was not quite enough for the Knights to top the Trojans, as York Suburban's depth allowed them to sweep not only Eastern York but Central York, Northeastern and Delone Catholic in the highly competitive meet.

The Trojans beat the Knights by just three points to win the meet. Eastern York, however, was a lot tighter with the rest of the pack, finishing second with wins of 25-30 (over Delone), 24-31 (over Northeastern) and 29-30 (over Central York).

On the boys' side of things, York Suburban — the defending PIAA Class AA champions — used its pack-running mentality to run away with the meet at Delone Catholic.

Peter Wagner picked up his second consecutive victory, narrowly edging teammate Donovan Mears by .28 seconds. Wagner finished in 17:25.00 with Mears coming across in 17:25.28. Fellow Trojans Bryce Ohl and Jarrett Raudensky followed with times of 17:39 and 17:41.
