Tuesday's girls' tennis roundup: York Suburban holds off Dover

YORK SUBURBAN 5, DOVER 2>>The Trojans were able to successfully defend their home court against the Eagles. Dover's Alex DiGiovanni got the Eagles off to a hot start with a 6-0, 6-2 sweep over Samantha Clancy at No. 1 singles, but that was the only singles match Dover would win. Dover's other win came from a doubles match in which DiGiovanni and Joanne Ezibe were able to edge out Clancy and Bailey Cross, 9-7.

Cross, Lindsey Hartshorne, Liv Pindzola and Elizabeth Huh won in singles for the Trojans.

KENNARD-DALE 6, SUSQUEHANNOCK 1 >> The Rams used a strong effort from Alyssa Miller with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Kristin Endres at No. 1 singles. Kennard-Dale's Clare Boone defeated Jessica McDonald, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles.

Susquehannock's Jenny Sproul earned a 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5 singles.

RED LION 6, BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 1 >> Tori Austin, Helen Zeidman and Emily Zeidman led the Lions to victory over the Eagles with wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

Bermudian Springs' Brooke Yurick was the sole winner for the Eagles with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles over Alison Miller.
