Column: Former William Penn football coach Eric Lauer still searches for who he truly is in Arizona
Phoenix -- He grew up not knowing if his birth parents were alive.
All he knew was that his mother was white and his father was black and that they did not want him.
He had been given up at birth and was shuttled between one foster home and another. He had problems breathing and cried a lot. He was labeled as "unadoptable."
Former William Penn football coach Eric Lauer wants to tell this part of his story now because he was one of the most fortunate of the forgotten.
He lives in Arizona and continues to search for more of who he truly is.
