The jump tied the Warriors' school record and earned him the state championship, the only state title won by any YAIAA track and field athlete this season.</p><p>That gold medal, which came after he placed fourth at the District 3 championships a week earlier, capped a season that also included a YAIAA triple jump title and his team winning the league's Division II championship with a perfect 7-0 record.</p><p><b><a href="http://ydr.upickem.net/engine/Votes.aspx?contestid=179024">Vote for GameTimePA.com Spring Athlete of the Year</a></b></p><p><b>Your team had so much success this year, particularly in field events. Is there more pressure to do well now?</b></p><p>I want to do better and keep striving for gold. Which sport do you like more, basketball or track?</b></p><p>It's close. They're pretty even right now. I used to like basketball a lot more until this year.</p><p><b>What changed?</b></p><p>I got gold.</p><p><b>You didn't start competing in track and field until your freshman year. What made you try out?</b></p><p>I was looking for something to do in the spring.
