Live District 3 lacrosse: Manheim Township girls win seventh straight title; boys win their fourth overall

Another year, another District 3 championship for the Manheim Township girls' lacrosse team.

The district has never known another girls' lacrosse champion, and the Blue Streaks won their seventh straight championship Thursday at Hersheypark Stadium, beating Hempfield, 21-14. Manheim Township has won every district tournament that has been held.

The Blue Streaks took a 16-4 halftime lead before the Black Knights closed the gap.

A little while later, the Blue Streaks' boys' team made a double championship day, beating Cumberland Valley, 8-3. It was the fourth overall title for the Manheim Township boys.

Manheim Township's two lacrosse programs have combined to win 11 of the 14 District 3 lacrosse championships.
