The Chambersburg softball team has made its way through the Distirct 3 tournament and the first round of states with the same mentality - do what they do best.

And for the Trojans, that means nearly everything.

But Thursday, Chambersburg will face another well-rounded opponent in the PIAA Class 6A tournament - Perkiomen Valley.

The Trojans will travel to Lebanon Valley College for a 3:30 game against Perkiomen Valley in the PIAA quarterfinals on Thursday.

The Vikings boast a strong regular season schedule in District 1, and were the district runners up this season after winning the title in 2016.

Perkiomen Valley has an ace up its sleeve in Abby Wild, who has nearly 250 strikeouts this season and threw a no-hitter and posted two one-hit bids so far this postseason.

Wild boasts a 0.98 ERA and is 21-4 on the season.

"They have some pretty good hitters, but everything you read is pretty much all about Abby," Chambersburg coach Chris Skultety said. "If she's on, they're on."

Chambersburg will look to come out swinging against Wild and avoid another slow start.

"Energy was down on Monday, but we've been telling the girls we need to come out with all the energy you've got, and play like it's our last game - because it might be," Skultety said. "The focus is there, but we just need to bring it to another level."

Laken Myers gets the nod for Chambersburg in the circle for Thursday's game. Myers has been solid throughout the postseason, and has allowed just three earned runs in her last two outings.

"Laken has been pitching great and she deserves the start," Skultety said. "We won't be changing anything tomorrow, we've been aggressive and putting pressure on other teams so we have to keep doing what we're doing."
