Thursday's district softball roundup: No. 1 Delone Catholic opens with shutout


Shelbee Holcomb had two hits and two RBIs, while Katie Laughman had a solo home run to lead Delone Catholic to an 8-0 victory against Upper Dauphin in Thursday's District 3 Class AA quarterfinal.

Delone, the No. 1 seed in the Class AA tournament, will next face No. 4 Susquenita in Tuesday's semifinal.

Pitcher Cassie Rickrode allowed only two hits and notched five strikeouts.
