YAIAA District 3 soccer roundup: Miller's goal lifts Central

BOYS' SOCCER 

DISTRICT 3 CLASS 4A QUARTERFINALS 

Central York 2, Wilson 1: Pierrce Miller's goal with about eight minutes remaining broke a 1-1 tie and catapulted Central York into the semifinals of the District 3 Class 4A boys' soccer tournament.

The game was played at Hersheypark Stadium.

Central York advances to face Littlestown in the semifinals round Tuesday. Time and location of the game are to be determined.

Carter Mummert netted the other goal for Central York.

Kameron Stoll held it together for the Panthers in goal with a strong performance.

Red Lion 0, Elizabethtown 0: Elizabethtown advanced to the semifinals round on penalty kicks.

Elizabethtown outscored Red Lion 3-1 in the penalty kick shootout.

Red Lion was without goalkeeper Brock Gould (concussion) and left-back Austin Collis (personal). Head coach Mike Watt said backup senior goalkeeper Tristan Fuentes had a strong game and kept the Lions in the contest.

GIRLS' SOCCER 

DISTRICT 3 CLASS 2A QUARTERFINALS

Schuylkill Valley 7, Delone Catholic 0: The No. 6 Squirettes saw their season come to a close with a shutout loss to No. 3 Schuylkill Valley.

Delone Catholic finished the season with a 10-5-1 overall record and 8-4 mark in YAIAA Division III play.
