Seven YAIAA golfers advance to PIAA tourney

Central York juniors Julianne Lee and Joe Parrini once again carded the best rounds among York-Adams golfers Monday afternoon at the PIAA East Regional championships at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood.

Lee took fifth place with a 5-over 77, while the Parrini finished in a tie for sixth place with an even-par 72. It was another strong showing for the Panthers duo, who each won YAIAA and District 3 individual titles and who helped Central win the league and district team crowns.

And Dallastown teammates Evan Greenplate and Blake Sebring just made the cut, both advancing in a playoff after they each finished with a 4-over 76. That score put them in a five-way tie for the final four spots in the PIAA tournament, which the two Wildcats secured through the playoff.

Missing the cut was another Central golfer, Matt Bricker, who shot a 6-over 78 to tie for 29th.

Lee was the only female golfer to advance to the PIAA tournament. Susquehannock's Kendel Abrams just missed the cut, being eliminated in a playoff after shooting a 10-over 82.

And York Catholic's Andrew Forjan was the lone local golfer in Class 2A to reach states. Forjan tied for 10th with a 7-over 79 on Monday.

Littlestown's Devin Peart missed the cut for states but tied for 16th with a 9-over 81.
