Central retakes course, doesn't miss beat


Central York opened its defense of the YAIAA Division I crown with a dominant win at Royal Manchester.

The Panthers scored a four-person total of 308, 14 strokes better than second-place Dallastown (322) and 24 ahead of Spring Grove (332). New Oxford finished fourth with 336 while Red Lion was fifth with a 383. South Western (398) and Northeastern (479) rounded out the field. It was the opening tournament of the 2016 YAIAA golf season.

Central York's Julianne Lee tied for first place with Luke Hoffnagle, each shooting a 72. The Panthers victory was aided by three more top-10 finishes as Carson Bacha finished sixth with a 78 while Will Gekas and Brady St. Pierre each shot a 79.

Dallastown's leading scorer was Blake Sebring, who turned in a 76, tying with New Oxford's Mike Robinson. Wildcat Brady Williams rounded out the top-five with a 77.
