Central York golfers Minkin, Parrini in good position for PIAA final


Central York's Gus Minkin sits a stroke off the lead entering the final round of the PIAA Class AAA golf championships.

Minkin carded a 74 in Monday's first round at Heritage Hills Golf Resort. He is in a four-way tie for fourth place, a stroke behind three golfers tied for first.

One stroke behind Minkin is his teammate Joe Parrini, whose 75 tied him for eighth place through the first round. Eastern York's Kevin Crumbling sits in a tie for 17th place with a 79, and Andrew Davis is tied for 21st with an 80.

On the girls' side, Central's Julianne Lee is nine strokes off the lead and sitting in 13th place with a first-round score of 82.

The second round begins at 8:30 a.m. today at Heritage Hills.
