Manheim Township edges Central York for District 3 team golf title; York Catholic second in AA


Manheim Township won its fifth straight District 3 Class AAA team golf championship on Tuesday at Briarwood East, edging Central York by five strokes to win the title.

Christopher North led the Blue Streaks to the Class AAA championship with a low round of 69, four strokes ahead of Central's Connor Bacha and Gus Minkin and Streaks teammate Trey Kuntz.

The Blue Streaks, who also won the Lancaster-Lebanon League title, won with a team score of 295 and will advance to the PIAA team championships at Heritage Hills later this month.

The York-Adams champion Panthers scored a 300 to finish as the runner-up. Mid Penn champion Chambersburg (315) finished third, and Berks League winner Wilson was fourth (321).

In Class AA, Lancaster Catholic had three golfers card a 78 or lower to win the championship with a team score of 310.

York Catholic's Andrew Forjan carded the lowest Class AA round of the day, a 73 that helped the Fighting Irish finish in third place with a 329. Berks Catholic took second (322), and Trinity finished fourth (364).

Thomas Moran led the Lancaster-Lebanon league champs with a 74 while Will Reva carded a 75 and Thomas Bird scored a 78.
