Central York won the YAIAA Division I golf title in 2014 and, with only two seniors on this year's roster, it seemed it had the potential to repeat.

Last week the Panthers won by 21 strokes at South Hills, and on Thursday they made another statement. Central won its second match at Springwood Golf Course by 23 strokes, shooting a combined score of 287, one stroke under par.

Dallastown shot a team score of 310 to take second place, followed by Spring Grove (329), New Oxford (336), Red Lion (352), South Western (402) and Northeastern (433).

"If we keep playing sub-par rounds, I'm not sure if anyone is going to catch us," Central York head coach Mike Ruby said. "To come in here under par with four kids, it's a tough (course), it's fun. That's what it's all about."

Last week, York Catholic transfer Joe Parrini led the way with a 66. Thursday, it was No. 2 golfer Gus Minkin, a senior, who paced the Panthers with a 4-under 68 to win the individual title.

"I kind of got off to a rough start, but I finished strong," Minkin said. "I hit a lot good iron shots on the back-nine and shot a 31, so that was nice."

Parrini, a sophomore who walked with the first group, finished right behind Minkin with a 70. He birdied the 475-yard 18th hole to seal 2-under par.

He finished second overall, two strokes ahead of Dallastown junior Blake Sebring. He said he was pleased with his two rounds since transferring from York Catholic.

"I had a pretty solid front nine," Parrini said. "Any score under par I'm happy with. This is just a tough course to walk .It can be a little more tiring on the body, so I had a good round today."

Rounding out the day for Central York were senior Conner Bacha (74), sophomore Matt Bricker (75), sophomore Julianne Lee (81) and sophomore Will Gekas (88).

Dallastown finished behind Central York for the second consecutive match. This time, it was eight strokes off the score carded last week.

Leading the way for Dallastown were Sebring and sophomore Evan Greenplate, the team's No. 1 and No. 2 golfers.

Sebring shot a 72 with the first group, going back-and-forth with Parrini for much of the day. He trailed Parrini by two strokes going into the back nine, but shot a 36 to finish behind him.

Greenplate walked with group No. 2 and finished with a 2-over par 74 to tie for fourth place overall. He paired with and beat New Oxford's Justin Gruver, Spring Grove's Garrett Leib and South Western's Drew Darragh.

"(Sebring and Greenplate) are our consistent players," Dallastown head coach Brooke Shoffner said. "We need to get a little more consistency from the rest of the team, though."

Spring Grove took third with a 329 team score, four strokes behind the 325 it posted at South Hills. Juniors Mason Staub and Luke Hoffnagle each carded a 79 to lead the team. Leib, a senior, finished right behind them with an 83.

New Oxford finished seven strokes behind Spring Grove for fourth place. Freshman Justin Gruver boosted the score with a 76.

Senior Ian Schaeffer led Red Lion, which finished with a fifth-place score of 352. Grant Fickes came in second on the team with an 87.
