YAIAA players earn all-state volleyball honors

Red Lion girls' volleyball players Lindsey Blevins and Lauren Enfield played pivotal roles during the Lions' historic season, while Central York middle hitter Kamryn Stambaugh fought through injuries in the playoffs in an attempt to keep the Panthers' season alive. Fittingly, the three players headlined a group of YAIAA players to earn all-state honors announced by the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Tuesday.

Just three YAIAA players earned all-state honors in large-school Class 4A. Blevins led the Lions to their first District 3 championship, recording 413 kills. Enfield was a versatile player capable of leading the Lions offensively and defensively during stretches. Stambaugh, meanwhile, played through injuries in a five-game loss to eventual District 3 runner-up Hempfield.

In Class 3A, West York had two players — setter Abbey James and 6-foot middle hitter Marisa Krinock — from its state semifinal team earn all-state honors. York Suburban's Ali Reinecker, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, pulled in honors after standing out during the Trojans' run to the District 3 semifinals.

The YAIAA had its most selections on the Class 2A all-state team. Delone Catholic senior middle hitter Claire Kaufmann and junior setter Chloe Kindig earned honors after helping the Squirettes win the District 3 title and advance to the second round of the state tournament.

Hanover setter Lexi Daley and Littlestown setter Emily Staub also brought home all-state honors, helping to highlight how loaded the YAIAA had been this year at the setter position. York Catholic junior middle hitter Rachel Shelley also earned all-state honors after lifting the Irish to the District 3 final.
