Delone's Neudeckers advance to District 3 doubles semis

Delone Catholic's Alyssa and Ellie Neudecker advanced to the District 3 Class 2A doubles semifinals thanks to a pair of straight-set victories Friday at Hershey Racquet Club.

The Neudecker sisters are the second-seeded doubles team and will take on third-seeded Anna Kate Schreck and Leah McAvoy of Wyomissing in the semis at 1 p.m. Saturday for a spot in the title game. The Squirettes are the only YAIAA team still playing in the doubles semifinals.

After winning their first-round match, the Neudeckers beat Kennard-Dale's Brianna Miller and Brooke Siebert in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-0.

Also in Class 2A, York Suburban's Liv Pindzola and Samantha Clancy forced a third set against Lancaster Catholic but ultimately fell, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. And Biglerville's Morgan Orndorff and Mackenzie fell in straight sets to the fourth-seeded team from Berks Catholic.

In the Class 3A tournament, teams from Dallastown and New Oxford won their first-round matches but were dispatched in the quarterfinals.

Dallastown's Christie Friedrich and Madi Reed lost to top-seeded Manheim Township, 6-0, 6-2. And New Oxford's Dagney Markle and Kamdyn Balko dropped a three-set battle to Hempfield's Katie Donell and Emily Staman.
