GameTimePA.com unveils its first-team YAIAA girls' tennis all-stars Sean Heisey

FIRST-TEAM ALL-STARS
Jennifer Elder, Central York, sr.

Elder played No. 3 singles for the Panthers and was part of the YAIAA Class AAA doubles champions with fellow all-star Yvonne Peters-Washington. In district play, Elder teamed with Maddison Mummert because Peters-Washington advanced to the PIAA tournament in singles and the pair fell in the two sets in the opening round.

Christie Friedrich, jr., and Angela Friedrich, sr., Dallastown

For the second consecutive year, the sisters helped lead Dallastown to a Division I title, their 12th since 2000. The Friedrich sisters also advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 3 tournament.

Dagney Markle, New Oxford, jr.

The junior was an honorable mention all-star in 2014. Markle fell in the opening round of the District 3 singles tournament after finishing as the runner-up in the YAIAA tournament.

Alyssa Miller, Kennard-Dale, sr.

The Rams senior was a first-team doubles all-star in 2014 with Evan Boone and returns to the first-team list this year in a different role as a singles player. After falling to Delone's Alyssa Neudecker in the YAIAA final, Miller defeated Neudecker in the first round of the District 3 tournament, defeating her in straight sets before falling to eventual champion, Berks Catholic's Lin Robertson. Miller finishes her career with 98 wins, playing at No. 1 singles all four years and was the first ever Kennard-Dale player to reach Districts in singles play, qualifying three times.

Alyssa Neudecker, Delone Catholic, jr.

The Delone junior finished the season 10-3 overall, 7-0 in YAIAA Division II play. Her only losses of the season were to three fellow all-stars, dropping matches to Dagney Markle, Alyssa Miller and Yvonne Peters-Washington. Neudecker was an honorable mention singles player in 2014.

Yvonne Peters-Washington, Central York, sr.

After winning the YAIAA Class AAA title, the State College transfer advanced to the District 3 Class AAA championship before falling to top-seeded Sammi Snyder of Exeter Township. Peters-Washington defeated Sammi's sister Ali in the semifinals in a three-set thriller. Despite the District 3 run, Peters-Washington was eliminated in the first round of the PIAA singles tournament.

Laura Zielinski, Northeastern, sr.

A first-team all-star in consecutive years, Zielinski, a senior, advanced all the way to the semifinals in the YAIAA tournament before falling to New Oxford's Markle. She capped her season with a three-set loss to the No. 4 seed in the District 3 tournament.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Denise Dunn, Delone Catholic

A 15-year veteran for the Squirettes, Dunn led Delone Catholic to its first YAIAA Division II title, knocking off York Catholic — a three-time defending champ and winner of seven of the previous eight titles.
