District roundup: Mummert nets two as Susquehannock advances


Susquehannock got past Northeastern by a final score of 2-0 in the Class AA District 3 girls' soccer quarterfinals round on Thursday night. The game was played at Spring Grove High School.

Maddy Mummert scored two first half goals for Susquehannock. Northeastern's Brenna Schroter made seven saves in the contest.

The Warriors advance to face the winner of Northern York-Middletown in the semifinals on Monday.

FAIRFIELD 4, MILLERSBURG 3 >> Hannah Logue scored twice and made an assist to lead the Green Knights to the home win in the Class A quarterfinal in the District 3 tournament over the Indians.

Sarah Heinbaugh chipped in two goals for Fairfield. Millersburg's goals came from Danae Troutman and Blair Hunter.

Fairfield faces York Catholic, for the third time this year, in the semifinal round on Monday. The time and site for the matchup is still to be determined.
