Tuesday's girls' soccer roundup: Spring Grove holds off South Western


Here are Tuesday's York/Adams girls' soccer results. Check back often for updates.

SPRING GROVE 3, SOUTH WESTERN 2 >> Emily Getman knocked home the eventual game-winner with 15:30 to play as the Rockets knocked off the Mustangs.

South Western led, 1-0, just 11 minutes in on an Abby Stevenson goal. The Mustangs' lead held until 1:11 before the half when Anna Morton tied the score for the Rockets.

At the 42:52 mark of the second half, the Rockets took a 2-1 lead with an Abby Erlemeier goal. Getman pushed the lead to 3-1 about 22 minutes later.

Hannah Huff pulled the Mustangs to within one with about 10 minutes to play, but the Rockets held South Western off to earn the win.

YORK SUBURBAN 3, KENNARD-DALE 0 >> Morgan Taylor notched eight saves to secure the shutout. The Trojans' Julia Chonacki scored twice, leading the Trojans to a victory over Kennard-Dale.

LANCASTER COUNTY CHRISTIAN 10, CHRISTIAN SCHOOL OF YORK 0 >> Kianna King scored three goals for Lancaster County Christian and Joanna Boone added two goals in the home win. No other information was available.

DELONE CATHOLIC 3, BIGLERVILLE 2 >> The Squirettes held off a Canners' second-half comeback bid and picked up the road win.

Delone Catholic built a 2-0 lead with a pair of first-half, unassisted goals by Julia Whiteleather and Theresa Pecher.

Biglerville's Coral Wagner cut the Squirettes' lead to 2-1 shortly after the break.

But Delone's Riley Vingsen scored an insurance goal with just over 10 minutes left to put Delone Catholic on top for good.

Wagner added her second score with about five minutes to play, but Biglerville could not score the equalizer.
