Five YAIAA girls' basketball teams set their places in the upcoming PIAA tournament on Thursday night, while the postseason journey ended for another.

The Central York, West York, New Oxford, Dover and York Suburban girls played consolation games in their respective District 3 tournaments that finalized the seeds for the state tournaments. Those tourneys will begin next Friday and Saturday.

Dallastown was the only team that hadn't yet secured a spot in states. The Wildcats took on Central Dauphin East in the Class 6A seventh-place game for the final spot in the PIAA tournament. But the Panthers earned a 51-43 victory, ending Dallastown's season. The Wildcats finish with a 13-14 record.

Here's a look at the rest of Thursday's consolation results for seeding in the PIAA tournament, and what's next for each team.

Central York: The Panthers finished fourth in the District 3 Class 6A tournament after Thursday's 48-41 loss to Cedar Crest. Central will open the state tournament March 10 against the third-place finisher from District One, which encompasses the Philadelphia suburbs.

West York vs. New Oxford: The Bulldogs beat the Colonials, 52-43, to finish fifth in the District 3 Class 5A girls' tournament. The decision sends West York into a state tournament opener against the second-place finisher from District 12, the Philadelphia schools. New Oxford, meanwhile, will take on the District 2 champion from northeast Pennsylvania in the first round of states March 11.

Dover: The Eagles beat Lampeter-Strasburg, 38-28, to finish seventh in the Class 5A tournament. Dover will open the state tournament against the champion from District 11, which includes the Allentown area.

York Suburban: The Trojans fell to Berks Catholic, 54-25, to finish sixth in the Class 4A girls' tournament. Suburban will take on the District 4 champion in the state opener March 10. District 4 is in north-central Pennsylvania.
