Tyler Williams scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Susquehannock girls' basketball team to a win in the first round of the District 3 Class 5A tournament on Tuesday.

The second-seeded Warriors beat No. 15 Mechanicsburg, 51-27, to advance to Friday's quarterfinals.

The Warriors will take on YAIAA Division II foe Dover. The seventh-seeded Eagles earned a 56-44 victory against No. 10 Fleetwood on Tuesday. Susquehannock won both of the teams' previous matchups this season, by margins of five and eight points.

Tuesday, Taylor Tannura added 12 points for the Warriors, who led by just five points at halftime but held the Wildcats to single digits in the final three quarters to pull away.

Megan Schrass led the Wildcats with 10 points and was the only Mechanicsburg player to reach double digits.
