What New Oxford lacked in size Tuesday, it made up for with shooting.

Taking on a much bigger team in Delone Catholic, the Colonials hit seven 3-pointers on their way to a 57-40 win in the YAIAA semifinals at Dallastown High School. New Oxford will play Central York in the title game at 7 p.m. Thursday at York College. A win would give the Colonials their first York-Adams championship.

The catalyst behind Tuesday's win was senior Haley Still, who hit four 3-pointers and led the team with a career-high 16 points. It was a signature moment for a player who missed all of last season with an ACL injury.

"(Still) is really focusing on her defense, outside of the threes I thought the best play was on the full-court press from the back side, she anticipated and intercepted the ball," New Oxford head coach James Kunkle said. "We know Dallastown has some tight rims, and it just kind of went our way, they started drilling (shots).

"As a second-year coach, coming in with a group of girls like this is awesome. The last two weeks their intensity has stepped up."

New Oxford's Haley Luckabaugh hit three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, while forward Kaelyn Long scored 15. The Colonials were particularly dominant in the first half, going on a 16-0 run at one point and leading by 15 at halftime.

While Delone Catholic started the third quarter on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to seven, the Colonials continued to force turnovers and kept their lead over double-digits the rest of the way. Freshman Maddie Clabaugh led the Squirettes with 14 points.

"They played fantastic," Delone coach Gerry Eckenrode said. "I'm disappointed in our execution. This is (New Oxford's) season and their seniors wanted to get there."
