Kaelyn Long scores 1,000th career point in win

It was a historic night for Kaelyn Long and a winning night for the New Oxford girls' basketball team.

Long scored her 1,000th career point and the Colonials came out on top, beating Spring Grove 61-36 on Monday. The game was played at New Oxford High School.

Long, who needed nine points to hit the milestone, finished with 17 on the evening. The senior forward received help from teammates Presley Berryhill (11 points) and Haley Still (10 points) in the win.

The Rockets were led by Lexi Hoffman's 10 points.

The victory moved the Colonials to 12-2 on the year and 7-1 in YAIAA Division I play. Spring Grove is now 3-12 overall and 0-8 within the division.
