Roundup: Bearcats win, clinch YAIAA berth


Chyna Steele scored 25 points, 12 of those coming in the fourth quarter as William Penn rallied from a 36-33 third quarter deficit to clinch the final YAIAA tournament berth with a 52-47 win over Dallastown on Tuesday.

The Wildcats received 13 points from Sabrina Stough in the loss.

Susquehannock 54, Bermudian Springs 31: Ashley Stone scored 12 points to lead a balanced offensive effort from the Warriors. Taylor Tannura added 11 and Tyler Williams chipped in with 10 towards the win.

The Eagles received a game-high 16 points from Mackenzie Farley, but Bermudian fell behind, 27-16, by the half.

New Oxford 40, South Western 30: New Oxford needed a fourth-quarter rally to edge past South Western, 40-30, at home on Tuesday.

The Colonials didn't make a field goal in the third quarter and went into the fourth down by three. But they opened the final quarter on an 8-2 run that gave them a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Kaelyn Long led New Oxford with 15 points, while Jacey Shipley paced South Western with 12.

Despite the win, New Oxford didn't qualify for the YAIAA playoffs due to William Penn's win over Dallastown.
