Maddie Comly

Player of the Year

Maddie Comly, 5-8, sr., Delone Catholic: The YAIAA's leading scorer at 22.8 points per game, Comly drove Delone to its first league title game since 2005. She is headed to Fairleigh Dickinson and will play basketball after this track-and-field season, which is her third sport.

Comly also won a state volleyball championship with Delone as a junior. On the basketball court, she became a three-year starter in Gerry Eckenrode's program. Immediately after the graduation of YAIAA all-time leading scorer Sierra Moore, the Squirettes needed a go-to player. It became Comly, whose scoring punch took effect as a sophomore.

This season, she had a 46-point game against Bishop Guilfoyle and scored at least 30 on five occasions.

First-team all-stars

Courtney Dimoff, 5-9, jr., Red Lion: The Lions emerged as a contender this season in Division I with Dimoff leading the way in her third year as a starter. She averaged 14.9 points and connected on 51 3-pointers, helping the Lions qualify for the PIAA tournament in Class AAAA. Red Lion (17-10) finished just a game shy of winning its division.

Amari Johnson, 6-1, sr., Dallastown: One of three Division I college recruits from this year's senior class, Johnson is bound for Rhode Island. Versatile on both ends of the court, Johnson was typically good for double-digit rebounds and a handful of blocks. She also could handle the basketball on the perimeter and led Division I champion Dallastown (18-7) with 16.8 points per game.

Jordyn Kloster, 5-9, jr., Northeastern: Kloster continued her steady improvement from a year ago and wound up leading the Bobcats with a 16.1 scoring average. Also a rebounding threat, she played well inside or on the perimeter (32 3-pointers). Northeastern (17-11) qualified for the state tourney in Class AAA.

Kari Lankford, 5-8, sr., West York: The accomplishments kept coming this season for Lankford, a four-year varsity player. First, she scored her 1,000th point in a game when she suffered an injury that left her hand heavily taped for weeks. Later, she passed Paige Elliott for the school's all-time girls' scoring record. Finally, she passed Parrish Petry to become West York's leading scorer for boys and girls with 1,377 points.

Marissa Ressler, 5-8, sr., York Catholic: A model of consistency this season in York Catholic's run to a 10th straight District 3 title in Class AA, Ressler averaged a team-best 10.8 points on a balanced squad. Two others also averaged double digits, but Ressler's big games came against Dallastown and in the league tournament. Her play in overtime of the district final vs. Camp Hill was pivotal: She scored the first six points of extra time on the way to a 63-57 win.

Emily Wood, 5-6, sr., West York: Arguably the YAIAA's top sharpshooter, Wood buried 68 of her 3-point attempts this season. Sixteen of the league's 22 teams didn't make that many 3s. Wood also averaged a team-high 15.7 points in spearheading the Bulldogs' 27-game unbeaten run into the district semifinals and a YAIAA championship.

Coach of the Year

Jess Barley, York Suburban: Talk about turnarounds. Barley's Trojans improved by 11 wins and came just one point short of qualifying for the PIAA tournament in Class AAA. Suburban finished 19-9 and posted its first winning season and District 3 tournament appearance since 2009.

Second team

Payton Hauck, 5-9, sr., Northeastern

Rebecca Isaac, 5-6, sr., Biglerville

Hannah Laslo, 6-1, sr., York Catholic

Claudia Mingora, 5-7, sr., York Suburban

Chyna Steele, 6-0, jr., William Penn

Soukaina Tracy, 6-0, jr., Hanover

Honorable mention

Central York: Nikson Valencik, Kelsey Wisner. Dallastown: Debria Hendricks, Katie McGowan. Delone Catholic: Ally Shipley. Eastern York: Leah Myers. New Oxford: Taryn Crone, Kaelyn Long. Red Lion: Amy Maciejewski. South Western: Jacey Shipley. Susquehannock: Ashley Stone.
