Gettysburg continues turnaround, beats Daniel Boone

Last year, the Gettysburg Warriors were a one-win football team.

This season they're anything but that, grabbing their fifth victory of 2016 with a 46-27 win over Daniel Boone on Friday night.

It was Gettysburg's second-straight victory, as the team enters the stretch drive of its season with a 5-3 overall mark. The Warriors have a big YAIAA Division II game next weekend as well, when they travel to face 6-2 York Suburban.

"I'm just proud of the boys," Warriors coach Matt Heiser said. "I'm more excited for them then anything else."

Edny Celius ran for over 170 yards and topped the 1,000-yard plateau on the season. He also scored two touchdowns.

Wesley Gayles also scored two touchdowns for the Warriors — one rushing, one on a kickoff return — and Laion Shelton added a scoring reception for the Warriors.
