Gridiron guest picker of the week: Randy Edsall

After Susquehannock's big homecoming win against Eastern York last week, a Susquehannock graduate that knows quite a bit about football will be this weeks' guest picker.

Randy Edsall played quarterback for the Warriors in the '70s, throwing for 2,795 career yards. He was an all-state selection in both football and basketball (he scored 1,145 career points), and he was also scouted by major league teams as an outfielder. He ultimately went to play football at Syracuse before starting his coaching career.

Edsall currently works as the director of research and special projects for the Detroit Lions, a new role he stepped into after decades of coaching. He coached at the University of Maryland from 2011 to 2015, including coaching the Terrapins to a win against Penn State at Beaver Stadium in the Terps' first year in the Big Ten in 2014. Prior to that, he coached at the University of Connecticut from 1999 to 2010, winning two Big East titles.

This week, he returns to his roots by picking the winners of the York-Adams football games against the GameTimePA staff.

Edsall went with his alma mater to follow up last week's big win and top West York this week, a pick that the GameTimePA staff agrees with. Most of Edsall's picks fall in line with what the staff predicts, but he did go against the grain by picking Bermudian Springs to go on the road and beat York Catholic.
