Gettysburg rolls to win over Kennard-Dale

The Gettysburg football team won handily over Kennard-Dale, rolling to a 41-6 victory Friday night at Kennard-Dale High School.

The Warriors ran the ball with authority. Head coach Matt Heiser said the team tallied over 300 yards rushing on the evening, with Edny Celius going for over 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Heiser said fellow running backs Ferrious Ashford and Wesley Gayle carried the ball effectively as well.

Ammon Robinson contributed on special teams for the Warriors, returning a kickoff for a touchdown.

Heiser also said that David Johnson anchored the Gettysburg defense, recording double digit tackles and an interception.

"I'm proud of the boys," Heiser said. "They rebounded well and are taking the right steps forward to where we need to be."

The win moved Gettysburg to 4-3 on the season and 3-1 in YAIAA Division II play. Kennard-Dale is now 0-7 on the year.

Gettysburg is back in action next Friday at home against Daniel Boone. Kennard-Dale returns to the field with a road game at Eastern York.
