Gridiron guest picker of the week: Dan Connolly

With the Baltimore Orioles eliminated from the MLB Playoffs, Dan Connolly has some free time on his hands.

And what better way to spend that time than to pick the winners of the YAIAA football games?

Connolly was the Baltimore Orioles beat reporter for the York Daily Record more than a decade ago, before moving on to cover the O's for the Baltimore Sun. Last spring, he launched his own website, called BaltimoreBaseball.com, that covers the Orioles, their minor-league affiliates and Baltimore-area high school baseball.

This week, he helped out some old friends at the Daily Record — where GameTimePA.com is headquartered — by being our guest picker.

He picked the team with the better record to win every game, except for picking Delone Catholic (4-2) to go on the road to beat Bermudian Springs (5-1). In a battle of 4-2 teams that will be livestreamed on GameTimePA.com, he went with Central York.

Connolly looks to gain bragging rights over the GameTimePA staff, as well as fellow MLB on Fox reporter Ken Rosenthal, a fellow Daily Record alumnus who went 9-4 picking last week's games.
