For 48 minutes on Friday night, York Suburban and Susquehannock seemed to have an answer for each move made by the other. The teams were tied only once in the game, late in the first quarter, and the final five scoring drives resulted in a lead change.
But York Suburban's Ben Igo threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Janner Torres with 6:50 left in the fourth quarter that gave the Trojans the lead for good in a 28-24 victory in YAIAA Division II play.
Igo completed 11 passes on the day, but none more important than the touchdown pass to Torres. Susquehannock had another opportunity to regain the lead but turned the ball over on downs.
Moments later, Jadon Haynes rushed for a first down that sealed the Trojans' victory. Haynes rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns on the day to lead the Suburban (4-2, 2-0) offense.
Jack Allred rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns for Susquehannock (1-5, 0-2).
