Arevalo helps Dover romp past Kennard-Dale
Dover football coach Wayne Snelbaker Jr. said his youthful squad found itself in an unusual position Friday evening against Kennard-Dale.
"It's funny," Snelbaker said. "The coaches were in the locker room laughing a little. I don't think they knew how to handle themselves (ahead in a game). It's all an experience for us."
Sophomore running back Derek Arevalo rushed for three first-quarter touchdowns as Dover scored a 54-14 homecoming game win against the Rams in a YAIAA Division II battle at Dover High School.
Dover (2-4, 1-2) held Kennard-Dale (0-6, 0-3) to 53 first-half yards in building a 35-0 lead at halftime.
The Eagles rolled up 316 yards rushing in the game with sophomores Arevalo and Brandon Lawyer teaming up for 172 of those.
