A rarity nearly occurred on Friday night between Governor Mifflin and West York.

After Governor Mifflin's Ajay Sczepkowski returned a West York kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, West York's Cadence Thomas followed that with an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. However, Thomas' score was quickly taken off the scoreboard by a penalty flag.

That flag seemed to change the momentum to the Mustangs' favor for good. Governor Mifflin totaled four first-quarter touchdowns and posted three more touchdowns in the second quarter to gain a 42-point lead at halftime, en route to a 49-20 victory.

Austin Baker threw three touchdowns and 127 yards for the Mustangs (5-1). Sczepkowski scored three times, once on the kickoff return and once on a receiving touchdown and once on a rushing touchdown.

Joe King caught two touchdown passes to lead the West York (1-5) offense, and Anton Johnson posted 105 rushing yards and 153 passing yards with three passing touchdowns. He was intercepted twice.
