Red Land dials Johnson's number on 2-point call

Red Land rolled the dice and came out with a win Friday night at Susquehanna Township.

Justin Johnson scored a touchdown for Red Land with just under a minute remaining and then scored on a two-point conversion run to put the Patriots ahead for good in the team's 17-16 victory over the Indians.

It was an odd game at the outset — Susquehanna Township scored a touchdown and two-point conversion in the first quarter and Red Land countered with three Chad Stout field goals to take a 9-8 lead in the third quarter.

The Indians responded by ripping off a long touchdown run in the fourth — then tallied another two-point conversion — to take a 16-9 advantage with just over two minutes remaining.

Red Land took the ensuing kickoff and returned it to around midfield, according to Patriots coach Chad Weaver. The offense then marched inside the Indians' 5-yard line where Johnson took it in.

When the opportunity called for it on the two-point conversion, the team called Johnson's number again. 

"Same play," Weaver said following the game. "Same play"

The Patriots are now 4-1 on the season and will face Lower Dauphin next weekend. Susquehanna Township is 1-3 on the year.
