Manheim Central bowls over West York

Manheim Central scored early and often, imposing its will on West York in a 63-0 win Friday night at Elden Rettew Field in Manheim.

The Barons (3-0) scored three touchdowns in the first six minutes, putting the game out of reach early.

On the opening kickoff, West York (0-3) kicked it to Colin Erb, who took the short kick at this 27 and rumbled all the way down the right side for a 73-yard touchdown just 12 seconds into the game.

One its next possession, Manheim Central started at the Bulldogs’ 25. Three plays later, Kody Kegarise capped the short drive with his first of three touchdowns on the night, blasting up the middle from 10 yards out.

From that point on, the Barons would score every time they touched the ball offensively, with the exceptions of one fumble and their possession at the end of the game.

The visiting Bulldogs mustered just 54 yards on the ground and 76 yards in the air — most of which came late in the game, when Barons coach Dave Hahn removed his starting defense.

Kegarise finished the game completing 8-of-10 passes for 165 yards and one passing touchdown. The senior quarterback also rushed for 54 yards on eight carries.
