West York storms out against Kennard-Dale for 42 first-half points

West York used a few big plays in the air to secure a 42-19 victory against Kennard- Dale in a game that was moved to York Suburban.

West York's quarterback-to-receiver connection led to several big plays.

And of course the connection is West York senior wide receiver Terry Cains and quarterback Tyler Folk. Two of Folk's three completions were to Cains for 112 yards.

The first time these two hooked up it came with 8:05 left in the first quarter when Folk found Cains down the sideline for a 65-yard touchdown.

One possession later the same thing happened from the other sideline, this time from 47 yards out.

"We are starting to put it together, we are spending more time during practice on timing and whatnot." Folk said.

Folk found fellow senior receiver Dante Dorm for a 27-yard scoring pass to put the Dogs' up, 21-0, early in the second quarter.

Kennard-Dale (1-4, 0-2 YAIAA Division II) however, managed to keep it interesting when senior tailback Nick Workinger found a hole and took a 45-yard run to the 2-yard line. From there, junior fullback Chase Carlile scored to make it 21-6 with 10:55 left in the half.

But West York (2-3, 2-0) scored the next 21 points to end the half.

It started with a Folk 14-yard run.

Followed by a 70-yard interception return by Cains.

Freshman running back Ay'Jaun Marshall capped the first-half scoring with 4-yard run to put West York up 42-6 at the half.

Kennard-Dale came out firing on all cylinders in the second half scoring on its first two possessions.

After a West York three-and-out Workinger broke a 67-yard run to make it 42-13.

Then, after the Dogs' turned it over on downs, Carlile busted out a 31-yarder to pull within 42-19.

Next week West York travels to take on Delaware Valley Charter out of District 12. Kennard-Dale returns home to face-off against Dover.
