Week 5 notes: Delone Catholic's Dorsey key in Squires' win

Delone Catholic's Tavian Dorsey played the role of hero in leading the Squires to a 26-7 victory against Littlestown on Friday night.

The speedy senior rushed for 166 yards on 17 carries and a pair of touchdowns. He also intercepted a pass and returned it deep into enemy territory to set up his second score of the night.

But it was Dorsey's first touchdown run of the evening that was the key play of the contest.

Facing a third-and-5 at their own 35 in the first quarter, Dorsey exploded for a 65-yard touchdown run right down the middle of the field on a counter play. The score gave the Squires a 7-0 lead, a lead they took to the halftime break.

"He likes to dance a little too much at times when he gets the ball," Delone head coach Corey Zortman said of Dorsey. "But he's a great player, an explosive player and our home run hitter on offense. He put his foot in the ground on that play, made one cut and took off. I'm really happy that he's on our team. Because he wouldn't be fun to try to stop."
